Enner Valencia Eager for His Debut at the Bombonera

In the 1-1 draw against Racing in Avellaneda, Enner Valencia came on in the second half and had two goal-scoring chances. After the match, the magazine Olé asked him if he is excited to play at the Bombonera. The answer was immediate: “Yes, yes. With those ganas to be there already.”

The forward, who joined Boca in August, has already played three matches at Huracán and two as a visitor. Now the next fixture will be on Friday, when Boca hosts Lanús. Valencia hopes for “three points and that everyone leaves happy”.

To adapt to Argentine football, the Ecuadorian has relied on the support of Hernán Galíndez, Argentine goalkeeper of the Ecuador national team. “He had a lot to see. Before coming here I talked a lot with him because he knows how the environment is, how the medium is, everything,” explained Valencia. Galíndez advised him: “Enjoy it, enjoy it. Here we play good football.”

With the Bombonera in sight, Valencia feels better each day physically and mentally, and is ready to live the experience he has long awaited since joining the club.
