Valencia Club de Fútbol is looking to transfer Eray Cömert to generate space in the Fair Play Financiero. The Swiss center-back has barely played for Carlos Corberán, participating in only two league games as a substitute.
What's happening with Cömert?
The player rejected offers in the summer, but Valencia knows that if they transfer him in January, they won't receive a transfer fee, but they will be able to free up his roster spot and save his salary.
Why is Cömert's departure important?
The defense would be a priority, as if he leaves, Valencia would be left with only three center-backs in the first team, with César Tárrega, Mouctar Diakhaby, and José Copete.
What's next?
Ron Gourlay's priority is to transfer Cömert as soon as the winter market opens, and then look for an opportunity to strengthen the team. Valencia still has two free roster spots: the number 2 and number 6 jerseys, in addition to the number 24 that Cömert would leave vacant.
