Valencia CF has finalized the signing of Pablo Maffeo after a transfer saga filled with twists. The Argentine defender arrives on loan from Olympiacos until the summer of 2026, with an option to buy that would extend his stay until 2028. The agreement was reached after a series of interest exchanges involving multiple clubs following Mallorca's relegation.
The 29-year-old Maffeo became a target after Mallorca's relegation to Segunda División. Clubs like Valencia, which had previously contacted him, showed interest in his signing. However, Olympiacos signed him in June, offering a three-year contract. Just two months later, the player returned to Spain after an agreement between both clubs.
Maffeo, who already had La Liga experience, now aims to reaffirm himself at Mestalla. His arrival strengthens Valencia's defense, where he is expected to compete for the right-back position. Coach Carlos Corberan will integrate him into the squad for next season, seeking stability in a key sector.
