Valencia Club de Fútbol benefits from FIFA solidarity for Ferran Torres

Valencia Club de Fútbol has benefited from the FIFA solidarity mechanism for the transfer of Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain. According to the sports newspaper, the club will receive around 1.6 million euros for the player's training rights, who left the club six years ago.

Why is it important for Valencia Club de Fútbol?

This income will allow the club to strengthen its transfer market and, in particular, to improve its proposal for Arnau Martínez, a right-back who could be the club's target in the next season.

What comes next?

Valencia Club de Fútbol plans to allocate this income to improve its proposal for Arnau Martínez or search for another alternative for that position. The club is currently in 14th place in the league, with 34 goals scored and 46 conceded, and 44 points behind the leaders Barcelona.

Ferran Torres, born in Foios on February 29, 2000, began playing in Valencia's Academy at the age of seven. He completed his entire training there until becoming the first player born in the 21st century to play in La Liga, on December 16, 2017 against Eibar. The forward played three seasons with the first team, between 2017 and 2020, also debuting in the Champions League.

In 97 games with Valencia, he left several precocity records, such as becoming, at 19 years and 324 days, the youngest player in the club's history to reach 50 league games. He was also the first player born in the 21st century to score in the Champions League with a Spanish club. In 2019, he won his first professional title by being crowned champion of the Copa del Rey with Valencia.

Now, his transfer to PSG will allow Valencia to regain economic benefits from a player formed in the prolific Paterna youth academy.
