Valencia CF Seeks Final Friendly Before LaLiga Kickoff

Valencia CF has secured a final friendly match before the 2026/27 season against Raja Club Athletic de Casablanca in Morocco, a week after it was confirmed that the first LaLiga match against Real Betis had to be postponed due to a player's participation in the World Cup.

The Opponent: Raja Club Athletic de Casablanca

Raja Club Athletic de Casablanca is one of the giants of Moroccan and African football. Founded in 1949, it has won the CAF Champions League three times (1989, 1997, and 1999) and holds six continental titles, making it Morocco's most internationally decorated club. Its global significance was particularly highlighted in 2013 when it reached the final of the FIFA Club World Cup after defeating Atlético Mineiro with Ronaldinho and finishing as runners-up against Bayern Munich.

Currently, on July 31, 2026, Raja Club Athletic de Casablanca finished the 2025/26 season in third place in the Botola Pro Moroccan league with 56 points. This third-place finish qualifies it for the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2026/27 season.

The match, scheduled for the weekend of August 15-16, will serve as a final test for Valencia CF players and allow the technical staff to fine-tune preparations before LaLiga kicks off. The club considers it crucial to be in top form when facing Celta Vigo after several days without competition.
